As of May 11, 2023, most plans will no longer cover over-the-counter tests. Please contact the number on the back of your health plan card to determine if your test purchases are covered.
Some exclusions likely apply. Be sure to check with your insurance company to find out which specific tests are within your network.
Traditional Medicare members are not eligible to submit their receipts for reimbursement. If you are on a Medicare Advantage plan, please call the number on the back of your insurance card to see if they will reimburse you.
Medicaid members are not eligible to submit their receipts for reimbursement. If you have Medicaid, please contact your state Medicaid or CHIP agency for more information on how to access free COVID-19 test kits.
No, you do not need a prescription to get reimbursed for your COVID test kit if you participate in an eligible health plan.
If you are uninsured, you can still purchase COVID-19 test kits through the Optum Store, but will not be able to submit for reimbursement.
