● This test is used to detect the presence or absence of Immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies against the bacteria that causes syphilis. ● Your test results will show if syphilis antibodies were detected in your sample. ● This test is a treponemal test and cannot be used to differentiate between an active syphilis infection and a successfully treated syphilis infection. ● In the event that your test results are abnormal, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with our independent physician network at no additional cost to discuss your particular case and potential next steps. ● Syphilis: Syphilis is caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum. Syphilis is divided into stages (primary, secondary, latent, and tertiary). The number of primary and secondary syphilis cases—the most infectious stages of syphilis—is on the rise, with a greater than 9% increase in reported cases in men, and 34% in women in 2021. ● CLIA Certified Labs: Each lab we work with is CLIA-certified (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments).
