Medline Optifoam Gentle Heel Silicone-Faced Foam Dressings can be used as part of a pressure injury prevention protocol. The silicone layer minimizes trauma and reduces discomfort upon wear or removal, easily peels back, and re-sticks when checking skin or wound.

Ideal for partial and full-thickness wounds with drainage. ● Can be used as part of a pressure injury prevention protocol. ● Silicone layer minimizes trauma and reduces discomfort upon wear or removal; easily peels back and re-sticks when checking skin or wound. ● Transfer layer absorbs exudate into the superabsorbent layer and helps prevent leakage. ● Superabsorbent layer absorbs and retains exudate to reduce risks of maceration. ● Highly breathable film acts as a waterproof barrier to seal out germs and dirt.

This item is HSA/FSA eligible.

1. Remove center release liner from dressing and slide the dressing under the heel.
2. Position dressing at base of heel. Apply the adherent part of the dressing to the posterior heel / Achilles tendon.
3. Remove backing from the top left and right ankle lobes. Apply and smooth.
4. Remove backing from the bottom flaps. Apply and smooth upward toward malleolus.
5. Press and smooth dressing throughout to ensure adherence to the skin.
6. To perform skin check: gently release bottom flaps from skin and peel back towards achilles until enough skin is exposed for skin check.

Warnings

Contraindications: Third degree burns.
